A man was killed and three others were hospitalized following a crash Friday night on US-98 in Pasco County.
At 7:06 p.m., the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash between two vehicles on US-98, just south of Stanton Hall Drive outside of Zephyrhills.
Troopers said a 28-year-old Orlando man in a Genesis GV80 was traveling southbound on US-98. At the same time, a 51-year-old Lakeland man driving with his two passengers, a 43-year-old Orlando man and a 28-year-old Kissimmee woman in a Kia Soul, were heading north on US-98.
As the driver of the GV80 tried to pass another vehicle, he drove right in front of the Kia Soul, presumably colliding head-on.
The crash caused both vehicles to rotate in the travel lanes and onto the shoulder.
The driver of the Kia died at the scene of the crash, while his passengers and the other driver were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
