1 dead after car strikes tree, catches fire in Iona

One person is dead after a car struck a tree and caught fire in Iona on Tuesday night.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the single-vehicle crash around 11 p.m. near Summerlin Road and John Morris Rd.

Deputies said the car left the roadway, crashed into a tree and caught fire.

LCSO has not shared the identity of the victim at this time.
