1 dead after crash on I-75 in Pembroke Pines

One person is dead after a crash on Interstate 75 in Pembroke Pines Thursday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 2:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes, near the Pines Boulevard overpass.

Video from Sky 10 showed two vehicles involved.

FHP Lt. Indiana Miranda, an agency spokesperson, said the victim died at a local hospital.

Authorities closed two lanes of the highway as they investigated, leading to a traffic backup.

Officials have not released the victim’s identity or information about what led up to the crash.
