1 dead after motorcycle crash on Cape Coral Bridge Friday evening

The Florida Highway Patrol says one person is dead after a motorcycle crash on the Cape Coral Bridge Friday evening.

Troopers responded to reports of a crash around 10:28 p.m.

The motorcyclist, a 39-year-old male from Fort Myers, was reportedly driving east on the Cape Coral Bridge in front of an SUV.

Troopers say the front of the SUV collided with the back of the motorcycle causing the driver to be ejected.

Troopers say the motorcycle driver was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. NBC2 will provide updates as they are received.
