TAMPA, FL — A woman was killed in a crash involving a tractor-trailer truck on I-75 north Saturday evening in the Tampa area, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The crash happened near mile marker 256, the exit for the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway, around 6:45 p.m.
A 30-year-old Deltona woman heading north on I-75 lost control of her car, hitting the median guard rail and concrete wall, FHP said. Her car rotated back across all three travel lanes into the path of the truck.
After being hit by the truck, the car was redirected to the outside shoulder, where it hit another barrier wall, the agency said.
The woman was brought to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The truck driver, a 28-year-old Des Moines, Iowa, man, was uninjured in the crash, FHP said.
