One person was shot Sunday night after a physical altercation between two groups of people broke out at an establishment in Downtown Miami, authorities said.
According to Miami police, the shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. in the area of 150 NE Eighth St.
“Two groups were involved in a physical altercation inside of the location. As both groups exited the location the altercation escalated at which point a shooting occurred,” a spokesperson for the police department told Local 10 News in an email Monday.
According to police, Miami police officers and Miami Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene and rendered aid to the victim.
The victim was then transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center where he is listed in critical, but stable condition.
It’s unclear what led to the initial fight between the two groups.
No arrests have been announced.
