1 injured when fire breaks out at Orange County storage facility

Flames broke out at a local self-storage facility Thursday evening, sending one person in the hospital, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.

Fire officials said the fire happened just before 8 p.m. in the 4200 block of Orange Blossom Trail near Lee Road.

News 6 reporter Troy Campbell later responded to the scene, finding crews in action and traffic being detoured.

“We watched (the fire crews) gather their fire hoses after they connected to the nearby hydrants to knock out the flames,” Troy reported.

OCFR added that one person was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, and crews were eventually able to knock down the fire.

No additional information has been provided at this time, including the cause of the fire or the extent of the victim’s injuries.
