One person was taken to a hospital after a fire broke out Thursday night at a Palm Coast home, according to fire officials.
According to the Palm Coast Fire Department, eight people were in the home in the F section when the fire happened in the garage around 11:40 p.m.
Crews found flames and heavy black smoke coming from the garage.
“The fire was extinguished and contained within the garage area, though the remaining parts of the home sustained heat and smoke damage,” the department said in a release.
One person who was in the garage suffered severe burns and was taken to a hospital to be treated.
The Red Cross is assisting the family.
An investigation is ongoing.
