LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – One man is dead and another man is seriously hurt following a crash in Lake County on Wednesday morning, according to troopers.
The deadly collision happened at 6:30 a.m. on Schofield Road west of Five Mile Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 52-year-old Clermont man was traveling eastbound in a Nissan Maxima when, for unknown reasons, he crossed over the double yellow line into the westbound lanes.
As a result, his car struck the front of a Jeep Grand Cherokee, causing both vehicles to overturn multiple times.
The Clermont man died at the scene, FHP said. A 39-year-old Orlando man who was driving the other vehicle was flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
