A Lancair 360 airplane crashed at Cross City Airport on Sunday evening, leaving one dead and another person in critical condition.
An airport official said one person was taken out of the plane and rushed to the hospital. The official witnessed the crash and said the plane turned with the wind instead of into it.
The Dixie County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the crash, and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the incident.
We’ve reached out to the sheriff’s office for an update on the second passenger’s condition but have not heard back at this time.
This is a developing story.
