1 killed in crash on SR-417 in Seminole County

A 32-year-old Orlando man was killed Thursday night in a crash on State Road 417 in Seminole County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes near mile marker 40.

According to a crash report, the man was traveling south on SR-417 in a 2004 GMC Sierra when he ran off the roadway and hit a tree.

The man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The roadway was closed but later reopened early Friday.

An investigation is ongoing.
