13-year-old Tampa girl struck, killed by teen driver

A 13-year-old girl was hit and killed Saturday night while walking near a Tampa highway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Around 10:55 p.m., a 17-year-old Gibsonton boy was heading northbound on US-41.

Just north of Big Bend Road, FHP said the girl walked into the path of the driver.

Sadly, the girl died at the scene of the crash.
