16-year-old arrested for shooting that injured 2 teenagers

The West Palm Beach Police Department announced Monday that a teenager was arrested in connection with a shooting.

The 16-year-old boy of Riviera Beach is facing two counts of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm and one count of criminal mischief for shooting a car in the parking lot.

According to the police department, on Oct. 4, it received several 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area of the 5300 block of North Military Trail.

When the first officers arrived at the scene, they found two teenage victims with gunshot wounds to their legs.

The officers administered first aid to the victims. The West Palm Beach Fire Department took both victims to a local hospital. As of Monday night, one victim was released from the hospital while the other victim remains hospitalized.

According to the police department, witnesses identified the 16-year-old boy as the shooter.
