17-year-old girl charged with setting up friend to be attacked at Escambia County park

A 17-year-old girl was arrested for setting up her male friend to be attacked at Ashton Brosnaham Park, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

The girl — whose name is not being released by the sheriff’s office — is charged with:

  • Principal to First-Degree Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon
  • Principal to First-Degree Aggravated Battery without intent to kill

The incident happened last Sunday.

According to the sheriff’s office, the girl met up with a male friend at the park. When they got into a car to talk, two individuals in ski masks showed up.

Witnesses say the two individuals then pistol-whipped the male, according to the sheriff’s office.

The two individuals have not been identified.

A judge will determine if the girl is tried as an adult for the felony charges.
