18-year-old Palm Bay High School student faces charges after stabbing classmate, police say

An 18-year-old student at Palm Bay High School faces charges after stabbing another student in the stomach with a pair of scissors, according to the Melbourne Police Department.

Police said that around 1 p.m. on Monday, two students were involved in an “altercation” when one was stabbed in the abdomen.

According to a news release, the student who was stabbed was taken to the hospital where their condition was listed as serious, but stable. The injuries are not considered life threatening, police said.

On Tuesday, police announced that Dominick Glasco was arrested in the incident and faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and disruption of a school function.

Glasco was treated at the hospital for a cut on his hand sustained during the incident before being turned over to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, according to the release.

Brevard Public Schools officials said that the high school was places on lockdown after the incident before being lifted.
