A second person has died following a fatal crash that happened on Sunday.
Walterking Francois, 18, was a passenger in a fast-moving Dodge Charger when it suddenly collided with power pole. In an updated release from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO), Francois died on Wednesday. The crash occurred on his birthday, he had just turned 18 records show.
He was the second passenger who died following the crash, PBSO’s crash report says.
According to PBSO’s crash report a 20-year-old man was behind the wheel of the Dodge Charger traveling along Military Trail in West Palm Beach with three passengers, including Francois.
The crash report notes that the driver lost control of the car, and it began to drift, which caused it to swerve off the road and hit a power pole.
PBSO reported that the car’s impact on the pole caused it to rotate violently around the pole, and the front-seat passenger was ejected from the car.
A 21-year-old man named, Joe Haynes died as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR).
Francois was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center with another 18-year-old.
