19-year-old dies, 15-year-old critically injured after motorcycle crashes into pickup truck in Clay County

A 19-year-old man died and a 15-year-old girl was critically injured after the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a pickup truck traveling on Peppergrass Road in Clay County Wednesday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to FHP, the teenagers were traveling northbound on Cosmos Avenue at around 7 p.m. when they crashed into a pickup truck traveling westbound on Peppergrass Road.

FHP said the 19-year-old driver of the motorcycle, from Orange Park, died at the scene. The 15-year-old passenger, from Middleburg, was transported to Wolfson Children’s Hospital with critical injuries.

According to the FHP report, the teenagers were not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 37-year-old woman from Middleburg, was transported to Orange Park Medical Center with minor injuries.
