19-year-old killed in 5-vehicle crash on I-95 in Flagler County

A 19-year-old man was killed and two others were injured in a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Flagler County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 10:15 p.m. on Thursday near mile marker 291.

According to a crash report, a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Jacksonville man went off the roadway and reentered the northbound lanes, hitting the back of another vehicle.

That vehicle, driven by a 19-year-old Jacksonville man, lost control and sideswiped another vehicle, driven by a 39-year-old St. Augustine man, that was heading north.

The vehicle driven by the 19-year-old rotated and ended up facing south and was struck head-on by an oncoming pickup truck, troopers said.

Another pickup truck was damaged by the crash.

The first vehicle driver and the pickup driver that hit the 19-year-old’s vehicle suffered minor injuries, troopers said.

The 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was injured.
