2 hospitalized after tent intentionally set on fire in Orange County, deputies say

Fire happened near John Young Parkway

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Two people were taken to the hospital after an early-morning fire at a homeless camp, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 3 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to a wooded area near Michigan Court and John Young Parkway regarding a fire. Deputies later determined the tent was intentionally set on fire.

Deputies said a man and a woman in their 20s were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating the official cause of the fire.

No other details have been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
