Two people were injured in a shooting near the boardwalk in Daytona Beach on Saturday, according to police.
Officers responded around 7:35 p.m. and located two 19-year-old men who suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, the Daytona Beach Police Department said in a news release. The men were taken to the hospital, where they were in stable condition at last check, the release states.
Preliminary findings suggest the victims and suspect — or suspects — were previously known to each other, police said, adding several witnesses have been interviewed and an investigation is ongoing.
Further, investigators believe everyone involved was attending an unsanctioned “Beach Day” event in the area, according to the release.
Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the police department.
