Two people from Belle Glade were killed Monday night when a sudden lane change on a Palm Beach County highway sent their minivan off the road.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report, the Chrysler Town and Country was heading south on U.S. Highway 27, in South Bay, around 8:15 p.m., when it came upon traffic ahead. Investigators determined the driver, identified as Bobby Freeman, was going faster than the vehicles ahead and swerved to the right to miss them,
At that point, Freeman lost control of the Chrysler, and it went off the right side of the road and began rolling over. Both Freeman and his passenger, Christina Vasquez, were thrown from the vehicle as it tumbled.
Freeman, 60, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Vasquez, 36, later died after being taken to the hospital.
