Two street racers were arrested Thursday in connection to a crash in Clay County that killed an 18-year-old woman in June 2023, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Clifton Flagler Jr. and Derrick Evans are charged with vehicular homicide and racing on highways.

Troopers said the two were racing on US-17 when Flagler lost control of his vehicle and ran into a tree, causing the vehicle to split into two pieces.

The men were hitting speeds over 120 mph in a 60 mph zone, according to troopers.

FHP said Evans left the scene after the crash.
