2 men shot in fight, suspect on run, Jacksonville police say

Two men were shot just before 11 p.m. Sunday during a fight that escalated into gunfire in a home in Normandy Manor, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

Officers were called to a home on Joffre Drive, a few blocks south of Herlong Road, around 10:50 p.m. and found two men in their late 30s suffering from gunshot wounds.

One man was shot in the arm and abdomen, while the other was struck in the lower abdomen. Both were taken to a local hospital, where one remains in critical condition, JSO said.

According to JSO Sgt. S, the two men, a witness, and the shooter were at a home when the shooter got into an argument with one of the men that escalated into a fight. During the fight, the suspect fired shots, striking both victims.

The suspect, described as a white man with dark hair, average height, and thin build, ran from the scene. He was last seen wearing a light-colored hoodie and pants.

Crime scene investigators are gathering evidence, and detectives are interviewing the victims and witness and searching for surveillance footage that might provide more clues.
