2 motorcyclists critically injured in Lehigh Acres crash

Two people were taken to the hospital with critical injuries after a motorcycle collided with the rear of a car in Lehigh Acres on Monday.

A motorcycle was reportedly traveling east on Lee Boulevard in the left lane at a high rate of speed approaching Colin Avenue North at 5:36 p.m.

The 23-year-old male driver and 20-year-old female passenger struck the rear of the car and were thrown from the motorcycle before it burst into flames, according to reports.

Troopers say the motorcycle driver and passenger were both critically injured.

Florida Highway Patrol has not released information on the identities of those involved at this time, or their current condition.

The driver of the sedan, a 36-year-old male, was reportedly unharmed.

FHP says this crash remains under investigation.
