20-year-old dead, 1-year-old with minor injuries after car overturns in Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A 20-year-old man is dead and a 1-year-old had minor injuries after driving off a curve in Putnam County on Tuesday at 6:00 a.m., according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Officials said the driver was traveling north on County Road 309 at Old Shell Harbor Road. The driver was negotiating a right curve in the road and crossed over into the southbound travel lane and continued onto the west grass shoulder.

Investigators said the vehicle began to rotate, struck a utility pole and overturned multiple times.

Officials said the man was pronounced dead at the scene and the 1-year-old passenger had minor injuries.
