24-year-old woman ejected, killed on CR 484 after vehicle overturns

A 24-year-old woman was ejected from her vehicle and killed on County Road 484 in Ocala last night after her sedan entered the roadway’s median and overturned.

The fatal accident took place near the intersection of CR 484 and S Magnolia Avenue in Ocala on Wednesday, August 14 at around 5:15 p.m.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman, who was from Belleview, was traveling eastbound on CR 484 in the outside lane when, for unknown reasons, she lost control and traveled into the median.

The vehicle began to overturn and continued across the westbound lanes of CR 484 before coming to a final rest overturned within the north tree line.

The driver, who was also the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue personnel.

According to FHP, the woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The accident caused a detour on the roadway for several hours. The intersection where the accident took place is less than one mile from CR 484’s intersection with Interstate 75.
