Marion County firefighters rescued three dogs from a house fire late Friday near Ocala, according to the fire department.

Crews responded just after 11 p.m. to Banyan Track, where a 911 caller had reported her backyard and porch were on fire, adding several dogs were trapped inside of the structure.

Firefighters arrived to see smoke through the home’s roof, Marion County Fire Rescue said on social media. As help was on the way from at least three other stations, the units first on scene — from Rolling Greens Station #28 — dispersed to deploy a hose line, inspect the home, and search the structure without delay, the post states.

An aggressive interior attack of the fire paired with vertical ventilation through the home’s roof to alleviate indoor smoke conditions, according to the fire department.

The fire was out by 11:34 p.m. and two searches of the home were conducted, the post states. In all, three dogs had been found and taken outside.

No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported, according to the fire department, adding the origin of the fire remain under investigation. The American Red Cross was reportedly called to assist the homeowner and her pets.
