3 hospitalized after argument leads to 1 being stabbed in Lauderhill: Police

An investigation is underway in Lauderhill Sunday morning after a person was stabbed outside an apartment, police said.

Lauderhill Police arrived at the scene on Northwest 48th Street near 22nd Court at around 5 a.m.

According to police, an argument broke out between three people and became physical, which led to one of them being stabbed multiple times.

The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Officials said the two other people involved in the argument were also transported to the hospital.

Neighbors told NBC6 on and off camera that they woke up early Sunday morning and were surprised to see so many police officers in their Lauderhill neighborhood.

“I’ve never felt unsafe. I always keep an eye open,” said a neighbor.

One neighbor said he woke up at around 5 a.m. to take his dog out for a walk.

“I took him out and I saw the lights and then when I came around the corner, I was like, I saw all the tape and all the multiple police cars,” he said.

Police identified everyone who was involved in the incident and said there is no threat to the public.

Their identities have not been disclosed.

Neighbors said they don’t typically see such activity in their area often but weren’t surprised something happened.

“I think we live in a very angry society and people just, instead of stopping, count to 10 to think it through, they just react,” said a neighbor.

Neighbors speculated that the incident might have been drug related.

Some of them told NBC6 that the unit where the incident happened has been occupied by person who has lived their for three years. They also said people constantly go in and out of the unit during the night.

It is unclear if anyone will face charges.
