3 hospitalized after vehicle, responding patrol car collide in Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —
Three people are in the hospital after a marked Daytona Beach police car and another vehicle collided on Tuesday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the patrol car — with its lights and sirens activated — was traveling eastbound on LPGA Boulevard approaching the intersection of Technology Boulevard around 1:27 p.m.

FHP says a Lexus SUV was traveling eastbound on the same road and failed to observe the patrol car when attempting to make a left turn onto Technology Boulevard.

Both drivers and one passenger in the Lexus were taken to the hospital, FHP says.

This crash remains under investigation.
