3 hurt after boat crashes into channel marker in Biscayne Bay

A boat slammed into a channel marker in Biscayne Bay early Friday afternoon, injuring three people aboard.

The crash happened just after noon, west of Miami Beach’s Sunset Islands and just south of the Julia Tuttle Causeway.

Video from Sky 10 shows the front of the Armada pontoon boat slamming into Channel Marker 26 before it was split down the middle.

According to Miami Beach Fire Rescue, the three victims were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

Their ages, genders or conditions have not been disclosed.

Witnesses told Local 10 News that the impact sent passengers flying from the boat.

Officials didn’t provide further details.
