3 killed, including 5-year-old in head-on crash in Osceola County, troopers say

Three people, including a 5-year-old boy, were killed in an Osceola County crash on Sunday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the two-vehicle crash happened on U.S. 441 – also known as Kenansville Road – and Yates Ranch Road around 2:51 p.m.

According to a crash report, a Ford F-150 was traveling south in the northbound lane of North Kenansville Road, north of Yates Ranch Road.

At the same time, a Toyota RAV-4 was traveling north on North Kenansville Road, north of Yates Ranch Road.

Troopers said the pickup truck was traveling the wrong way and into the direct path of the SUV. As a result, the front of the F-150 struck the front of the RAV-4.

According to the report, the impact of the collision caused the SUV to run off of the road and overturn.

The driver of the truck, identified as a 30-year-old Jensen Beach man, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Troopers said the driver of the SUV, identified as a 34-year-old Orlando man, and a 9-month old baby were transported with minor injuries. Two passengers, a 54-year-old Orlando woman, and a 34-year-old Orlando woman were pronounced dead at the scene. A 5-year-old boy was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
