3 Pompano Beach Fire Rescue paramedics hospitalized after major crash

Three Pompano Beach Fire Rescue paramedics were hospitalized Thursday after their fire truck crashed while they were transporting a patient.

The crash happened on Northwest 31st Avenue and M.L.K. Jr. Boulevard, where authorities shut down the roads to investigate.

Video from Chopper 6 showed the heavily damaged fire truck and another white truck in the middle of the intersection.

Fire rescue officials said their rescue unit was transporting a patient when the fire truck crashed into the white truck at the intersection.

One person in the other truck was injured and transported to the hospital. The three paramedics had non-life-threatening injuries.
