35-year-old Pensacola man dead after moped crashes into motorcycle in Escambia County

A 35-year-old Pensacola man is dead after crashing his moped into a motorcycle in Escambia County Wednesday evening.

Florida Highway Patrol says the crash occurred on New Warrington Road and Twin Oaks Drive. A call reporting the crash was received at approximately 5:15 p.m.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, EMS and Fire Rescue were on scene.

According to FHP, the 35-year-old moped rider attempted to cross New Warrington Road but did not stop for the motorcycle, resulting in a crash. He was pronounced dead on scene.

The man’s passenger, a 34-year-old Mobile woman, had serious injuries. The motorcycle rider, a 37-year-old San Antonio man, suffered serious injuries, too.

They were both transported to a local hospital.

FHP is investigating the crash.
