A 4-year-old girl was killed after she was run over by an SUV in a private driveway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. The girl was standing next to the right rear passenger door of a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse that was parked in the driveway near Robinson Avenue and 13th Street, according to an FHP report.
The driver, a 37-year-old Apopka woman, was unaware the child was there and pulled forward, causing the girl to fall and be struck by the vehicle. The child was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, the report states.
The driver was not injured and remained on the scene, troopers said.
The crash remains under investigation.
