A Haines City man was killed early Wednesday morning after colliding with a tractor-trailer on State Road 19 in Putnam County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said a tractor-trailer combination was traveling northbound on SR 19 around 5 a.m. and a Honda Pilot SUV, driven by the man, was traveling south on SR 19 at South Marion Street.
The Honda traveled from the southbound lane into the northbound lane of SR 19 directly into the path of the tractor and trailer, colliding head-on, FHP said.
The driver of the Honda, who was not wearing a seatbelt, according to FHP, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
The driver of the truck was not hurt.
No other information was immediately released.
