60-year-old man hit and killed in Ocala, police investigating

A pedestrian was hit and killed in Ocala late Tuesday night.

According to the Ocala Police Department, officers responded to the 3700 block of Southwest 27th Avenue about a vehicle striking a pedestrian.

When police arrived, they found a 60-year-old man dead. Officers say the driver of the vehicle was traveling north on Southwest 27th Avenue and struck the man in the roadway.

The Ocala Police Department is actively investigating the crash.
