62-year-old bicyclist killed in Cocoa Beach crash

A 62-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle on Saturday evening, according to Cocoa Beach police.

Police said the crash happened around 7:03 p.m. in the westbound lanes of State Road 520.

According to Cocoa Beach police, the crash involved a bicyclist and a van, but no other details were released about what led to the wreck.

Police said the bicyclist was later pronounced dead at Cape Canaveral Hospital.

The driver of the van, identified as a 46-year-old Orlando woman, remained at the scene and was not injured.

This investigation is ongoing, according to officers.
