64-year-old man dies in crash due to medical emergency in Marion County

SUMMERFIELD, Fla. (WCJB) – A man from the Villages was killed in a wreck on U.S. Highway 301 in Summerfield on Tuesday.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a 64-year-old man was headed southbound on the highway around noon when he suffered a medical emergency.

He lost control of his car and went off the roadway near Southeast 144th Place Road. The car collided with a fence and a tree.

He died at the hospital.
