69-year-old Crestview man killed in crash on I-10 east in Milton

MILTON, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol says a69-year-old Crestview man died in a fatal crashinvolving six vehicles Friday afternoon in Milton.

It took place around 4:10 p.m. on I-10 east near mile marker 23.

FHP says a sedan and sport utility vehicle were driving eastbound on I-10 in the outside lane. The driver of the sport utility vehicle — a 72-year-old Milton woman — was ahead of a sedan when she began to slow down with the flow of traffic. The driver of the Sedan — a 75-year-old Milton woman — failed to slow down in time.

According to FHP, the sedan struck the back of the sport utility vehicle that had three passengers inside.

Those passengers were a 63-year-old Milton woman, a 64-year-old Crestview woman and the 69-year-old Crestview man who died from his injuries, says FHP. He was seated on the left rear passenger side.

The 63-year-old passenger and 72-year-old driver of the sport utility vehicle have minor injuries. The 64-year-old passenger has serious injuries.

The 75-year-old Sedan driver’s injuries were minor.

Other vehicles involved were not listed in the report.
