Man walking on US 17 in Putnam County killed in hit-and-run: Florida Highway Patrol

A 59-year-old man from Crescent City was killed early Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run crash on U.S. 17 in Putnam County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to FHP, the man was walking on U.S. 17 near Gail Drive just after 5 a.m. when he was hit by a pickup truck that then left the scene.

The man died at the scene.
