Man dies after shooting in Miami-Dade apartment building’s parking lot

Man dies after shooting in Miami-Dade apartment building’s parking lot

A man died at the hospital after a shooting on Thursday in northwestern Miami-Dade County, deputies said.

Deputies responded to the shooting shortly after 11:40 a.m. in the area of Northwest Seventh Avenue and 155 Lane, according to Detective Joseph R. Peguero Rivera, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

There was crime scene tape in the parking lot of the Parkway Towers Condominium, a community near Miami-Dade County’s public park-and-ride lot in Golden Glades.

A man who lives at the condominium and said he was afraid reported hearing men arguing loudly and fighting before hearing two to three gun shots and seeing a man running.

After deputies found the man on the ground, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel responded and determined his condition was critical and he needed hospitalization, according to Peguero Rivera.

M-DFR reported using a helicopter to fly the man to the North Trauma Center. Deputies said a doctor pronounced him dead at the hospital.

M-DSO deputies arrested a suspect and asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
