A driver was taken into custody in southwest Miami-Dade early Friday after they allegedly crashed into an off-duty deputy’s vehicle and fled the scene.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office could be seen investigating in the area of Southwest 207th Avenue and Southwest 168th Street, on a dirt road in South Florida farmland.
Authorities said it happened at around 2:22 a.m., when the driver struck an unmarked, off-duty deputy’s car and took off.
A short time later, that driver allegedly lost control and hit another car.
The suspect was taken into custody. No one was injured in either crash.
Video showed a black sedan with airbags deployed and damage to its rear, as well as a man detained in the back of a patrol car.
Officials haven’t released the suspect’s identity or said what charges he may face.
This is a developing story.
