Charlotte County Fire Department puts out house fire in Punta Gorda Sunday morning

Charlotte County Fire and EMS put out a house fire caused by an electrical accident in the garage on Sunday morning.

According to Charlotte County Public Safety, fire crews were dispatched to a home on Mindanao Lane in Punta Gorda at around 10:03 a.m. after the homeowner heard multiple loud bangs and discovered smoke and flames coming from the garage.

CCF and EMS arrived on the scene and quickly went to work, fighting the fire and ventilating the structure through the roof.

The fire was put out, one vehicle sustained damage, but there were no injuries. CCF determined the cause of the fire to be an accidental electrical fire.
