Three men were hospitalized with serious injuries after a car going 100 mph slid off the road into a tree, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
At around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, a 25-year-old Tampa man was traveling southbound on I-75 in a Dodge Charger. Police said his car’s tires were bald and he was speeding while the highway was wet after heavy rainstorms across Tampa Bay.
The driver lost control of the Charger, spun out and off the highway, struck an embankment, went airborne and crashed into several trees before finally coming to a stop.
Along with the driver, a 24-year-old Riverview man and a 25-year-old Land O Lakes man were in the car. FHP said all three were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries.
