A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed one year after a multi-vehicle crash in Pace killed a 12-year-old Molino girl.
The parents of Sofia Bennett filed against “Timber Contractors Trucking”, “Parker Gas Company, Inc.” and “J.E. Estes Wood Company, Inc.”
The crash happened last December at Quintette Road and Tunnel Road in Pace.
A log truck, tanker truck and passenger cars were involved.
The lawsuit claims the trucking companies “breached their duty of care.” It accuses J.E. Estes of negligence.
According to the lawsuit, the tanker truck was stopped — waiting to make an illegal U-turn onto Tunnel Road.
The lawsuit also says the vehicle Bennett was in was rear-ended by the log truck — sandwiching it with the tanker truck.
No arrests have been made in the case.
