Starke woman killed in car crash near Lawtey

A woman was killed in a crash north of Lawtey on Saturday.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the 21-year-old from Starke was driving north on U.S. 301, about half a mile away from the Clay County line.

They say she swerved off the road and hit a drain pipe.

She was killed in the crash.

She was not wearing a seatbelt.

FHP detectives are working to figure out why she drove off the road.
