GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Alachua County early Thursday morning.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a 43-year-old woman from Trenton was traveling eastbound on County Road 232 east of Northwest 97th Boulevard just before 1:30 a.m. when she hit a man that was walking in the roadway.
The man died at the scene, and troopers say the identity of the man is unknown at this time.
Troopers say County Road 232 was blocked due to the crash but roadways have since reopened.
FHP is investigating the crash and say additional information will be released as it becomes available.
