76-year-old dies after 3-vehicle crash in Marion County

DUNNELLON, Fla. (WCJB) – A 76-year-old man is dead and two others are injured after a three-vehicle crash in Dunnellon Wednesday night.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the 76-year-old was traveling south on State Road 200 just after 7:30 p.m. A 37-year-old woman was traveling north on State Road 200 and an 85-year-old man was traveling just behind her.

The 76-year-old veered into the northbound lanes and hit the 37-year-old, causing both vehicles to spin out, and the 37-year-old’s vehicle overturned. The 86-year-old’s vehicle hit the 76-year-old’s vehicle.

The 76-year-old man died, and the other two drivers suffered minor injuries.
