CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Clearwater police are investigating a shooting that happened near a local park Thursday evening.
Authorities said two men were shot while in a car near Cherry Harris Park, located off of Beckett Street.
The two victims are believed to have driven to the 1300 block of Terrace Road after the shooting, but it’s unclear why. The residential area is less than a mile from the park.
Police said they found the victims on Terrace Road and took them both to nearby hospitals. One of the men had life-threatening injuries and the other victim’s condition was unknown.
On Friday, detectives said they were still working to identify any possible suspects. The victims remained hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
