ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — Two people were taken to the hospital following a crash in Escambia County on Thursday evening.
The crash involving Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota Camry occurred at the 2900 block of South Blue Angel Parkway around 5:30 p.m., according to the county.
Florida Highway Patrol says the Hyundai carrying two Pensacola men ages 40 and 71 was traveling on South Blue Angel approaching Sorrento Road.
According to FHP. the Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound on South Blue Angel. As the driver crossed the median, making a left turn to exit the Walmart service road, they crashed into the Hyundai on its left side.
This caused the Hyundai to rotate around facing South in the Northbound inside lane of Blue Angel Parkway, FHP says.
According to the county, Escambia County Fire Rescue and EMS responded to the crash scene. Life Flight was initially called to the scene but later canceled.
The county says EMS provided on-scene care to two individuals. They are being further evaluated at a local hospital.
